ROUND THREE: The Results

Weighing myself is one of the last things on my mind.

When I woke up this morning I went downstairs to start making breakfast and completely forgot to weigh myself. When Brad came down from his shower he finished up breakfast so I could get all that technical weighing/measuring stuff done.

The final number? 9lbs.

I’m pretty happy with a 9-pound loss. I was hoping it would be a little more because of all of the exercises I’ve incorporated into my diet, but 9 pounds is nothing to shy away from. Overall, since I started this journey with the Whole30 I’ve lost 30 pounds.

THIRTY. POUNDS.

That is more than my year old niece weights. I lost a small child.

The changes were even more noticeable when I took out the tape measure. I lost a total of 5 inches. 2 inches from my hips, 1 inch from my arms, and 2 inches from my thighs. I’ll take it.

Since I started… I’ve lost a total of 12 inches. Insanity.

Breakfast

Like I mentioned yesterday, I plan to stick to Whole30/Paleo all the time unless there is some special occasion we are celebrating.

We are going away for a mini vaca this weekend and I’m sure to splurge.

I’m going to continue to wake up in the morning and make breakfast because it is a realistic healthy habit that I should continue.

We went super simple with breakfast today. 2 eggs, bacon, and strawberries.

So, like I mentioned yesterday I posted my before and “after” to a Whole30 support group on Facebook and had over 260 likes/loves/wows.

When I woke up this morning… there were over 600.

Insanity.

I love how people in this group can be so supportive. We’re all going through the same journey, people really go out of their way to be cheerleaders for one another.

We are celebrating Ashley’s birthday for Lunch today… which means we are ordering out on the company.

Lunch

I’m not quite ready to eat off-plan yet. The place we’re ordering from has 100% grass-fed burgers with no additives. So that’s what I got – with no cheese or bun. I had an avocado in the fridge so had that on top of the burger with a side of sweet potato fries. I was so proud of myself for not giving in. It would have been SO EASY to say “well, my 30 days is over so….”

In the end, I decided my feeling AMAZING isn’t worth any delicious burger bun on the planet.

Birthday cake?

I also passed on the birthday cake that was served later in the day. This wasn’t too hard for me because I normally don’t partake in cake eating, whether on the Whole30 or not. I think my coworkers has come to realize that that is just who I am. I did sit with everyone to partake in the conversation, drinking a black coffee, as they all enjoyed the sugary confections.

Dinner

I didn’t think lunch out too well because we’re having sweet potato fries with dinner. If I had, I would have ordered a salad or something instead.

Tonight we’re having boneless buffalo chicken bites with sweet potato crinkle fries. Yes, this is ALSO whole30 compliant believe it or not.

Dinner was delicious, per usual.

Brad headed to the basement to work on some metal art. He’s building “robot” trophies for a car show this weekend. We aren’t around this weekend, so he’ll need to drop them off to the performance shop tomorrow.

I cleaned up the house a little and watched Revenge.

Brad came up right before we were going to bed. He brought the trophies upstairs to start taking pictures for Instagram. They came out pretty awesome.

If you’re looking for some cool metal art, check out his Etsy site www.brakemakes.com and buy all of the things.
